Since we started this blog on a whim just 2 short months ago, it's been quite the journey! We never thought so many customers would appreciate reading up on all the latest news here at our cafe. With over 100 page views, we cannot express how grateful we are to have such loyal Cracked Bell fans! Because of that, we want to thank you with this sweet giveaway. 

On behalf of our blogger appreciation, Cracked Bell Coffee is giving away one week’s worth of FREE coffee!!! Yup. You read that right. No matter how many cups; no matter how many times a day; it’s all on the house for one lucky winner!

As we gear up for the upcoming fall season, we look forward to brewing up some new and innovative ways to better serve our customers. Who better to ask for help than our customers themselves?! With that, we want to hear you thoughts. Whether a new recipe, a fun promotion, or a new coffee cup design, we want to hear ANYTHING and EVERYTHING you have to say. The reader with the strongest and most innovative idea will have their concept implemented into our cafe starting THIS fall and will win the giveaway prize.

An Ode to Intacct

A look inside Cracked Bell’s accounting services- “A match made in financial heaven.”

Peter here! As the financial director, the Cracked Bell team wanted me to give you guys some insight on just how efficient our business is. A huge part of our work involves our accounting system Intacct, which allows us to provide the most efficient and affordable services to our customers. With hundreds of accounting services out there, you may be curious as to why Cracked Bell chose to team up with Intacct?

First, the team worked hard to narrow down our options to three reputable services. We then created an SLA matrix, comparing the service level agreements of each. Intacct achieved the highest final SLA matrix score based on a variety of weighted criteria. This means that, functionally, Intaact has exactly what our small, community café needed to operate efficiently and best serve you guys, our favorite customers. A few areas where Intaact truly shines over competitors included it’s speedy customer service; and strong service availability. Overall, it seems like a match made in financial heaven!

Playing with numbers all day may seem boring, but it is through our work that we can provide our customers with the most financially friendly cup of coffee. This is only one of the many reasons to love our neighborhood café.

A New Software coming to Cracked Bell

Who would have thought the day would come when you'd be able to pay for your favorite Skinny Caramel Macchiato just by saying your name?

Cracked Bell is proud to announce Pay with Square, a payment software coming to our store THIS Fall! Pay With Square is an iPhone application that uses GPS-based technology to purchase your daily cup of joe. The second you cross our doors into coffee heaven, your name and picture will appear on our register screen. When you’re ready to make a purchase you simply walk up the counter and say who you are. Our associates will be able to see your picture, match your name, and place it on your credit tab. What could be simpler?

Without long lines at the register, spend less time waiting for your fix of caffeine and more time doing whatever the heck it is you wanted to do. Just another treat provided to you from your favorite java shop :)

It all starts with a coffee bean...

Hi readers!

My name is Alycia and I am the project manager and IT director here at Cracked Bell. I am writing this post in the hopes of giving you all a little better understanding of exactly how we transform a simple coffee bean into our coveted cup of joe.

It all starts with a coffee bean, which is imported from organic farms in Colombia. 100% organic- that’s our motto always. Each week, we purchase this coffee bean as well as all of our other ingredients from our local vendors, no more than 50 miles from our shop. We pride ourselves on the close relationship we share with our partners, providing only the freshest of ingredients for our customers while helping our community all the same. We hire only the friendliest of baristas, who receive detailed training on how to turn this coffee bean into the perfect cup of coffee using our coveted Cracked Bell technique. Adding in whatever ingredients our customers request, milk, cream, sugar, all the works, each cup is made to your specifications. You can grab a muffin, or another one of our delicious desserts which are baked daily on the premises. After that, it’s up to you to enjoy J.

Celeste here! As the marketing manager, I am here to tell you exactly what it is that our we work for here at Cracked Bell, and why we truly are a cup above the rest!

Cracked Bell has made it our mission to better our world as well as our Philadelphia community by buying local. Aside from coffee beans, which can only be cultivated in tropical climates, all ingredients in Cracked Bell products will be purchased from local vendors no more than 50 miles from our coffee shop. This means that everything from the milk and sugar you add to your favorite cup of joe to the blueberries found within one of our delicious muffins, was harvested from farms that we know and trust.

Not only is local food fresher and tastes better than food shipped long distances, buying local also reduces the consumption of oil and carbon emissions nationwide. Not to mention, with each local food purchase, we keep dollars circulating within our very own community of brotherly love.
